Demo Recordings - Rough or Otherwise
These demos are recorded using some mic'd instruments and some instrument inputs. It takes a long time to balance it all (hence the people that make $$ doing it for a living), but these are the raw-level recordings. The balances will be off: vocals will be too loud, you won't be able to hear some parts, etc. Nonetheless, the quality of the recordings is significantly better - we're not embarrassed to share these with you. Some of the recordings are fairly quiet, so you may have to raise the volume substantially.
Rascals - Good Lovin' (rough mix). The organ solo in the middle is hard to here.
Tommy Tutone - 867-5309 (Jenny) (rough mix)
Elvis Costello - Pump It Up (rough mix) Some minor tweaking was done on this one - the balances are closer to what you might hear from the original recording.
The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army (rough mix) This is a great recording. Needs more bass (I'm not biased, really).

These recordings are made with an open mic tied to a MacBook sitting in the middle of our practice area.
Balance is an issue. Some of the mics we use make us sound funny, too.
