Moving on...
Thank you for patronage. Until further notice, the blog is dead. It's been dead, it will continue to be dead.
My apologies.
You can find me on Facebook, or you can email me directly. The links will stay active for the indefinite future, and I will continue to update them. I use them, too, after all!

A Week Off
It's a good thing I have a regular day job. Spending a week at home with the wife causes all sorts of problems.
Today, for instance, I nearly got my right nipple (aka "Cecil") chopped off with a +4 Draw Wild card while playing UNO.
She's dangerous, folks. Keep her at arm's length.

News from the House
It seems that I keep falling under criticism for not updating. Well, I don't update. It's not for lack of news - the wife has frequently done or said something worth writing about, not to mention my own shenanigans, but it's just a presence-of-mind thing, and I don't mean a Presence of Mind type of thing.
Events worth reporting:
- My wife bought me a Playstation 2 for my birthday (July 30), allowing me to play my guitar hero games again. Why not play them on my Playstation 3? There are certain compatibility issues... Since then, our house has rocked regularly with such favorites as Godzilla (Guitar Hero Video ) by Blue Oyster Cult and Turning Japanese (no useful links) by The Vapors. Total Awesomeness has ensued. (It's worth noting that, during the writing of this blog, my wife came down and cleaned up the kitty room. For her enjoyment *snicker* I played "Godzilla" for her - something she detests. Her response (and I quote):"It's a good thing I didn't have to choose between having my head in a box full of CAT SHIT and PISS and listening to THAT SONG - I GOT BOTH! HOW LUCKY AM I??" I suspect the couch may be getting some Cohen-time in the near future.)
- I've started my third semester at grad school and the first to run two classes while working full time. It's tough, I won't mince words about it, but if I can manage two classes a semester for 4 semesters (including this one), I'll finish in December of 2009. Hm. Let's see if I can pull it off.
- My job moves along. Even though this has been a weird year for the American Economy (if not the World Economy), we've managed to keep business going as usual. I should count myself lucky, since R and D is often viewed as "sacrificial" in times of rough.
- Some new books and music have come up: Zombie Fiction , The Peter Principle (link is safe, this is not a sexual reference), freezepop 's great music, and 8bitpeoples .
- Our regular WoW group is looking for some reliable, fun-loving members to keep pace with us for the next expansion, slated to hit sometime in November. I might as well advertise here. Drop me a line if you are interested - there's plenty of time to transfer (hah!) or level up someone (also hah!) before then. (If I don't ask, I won't know the results, right?)
- The kitties continue to entertain and adore us. See an earlier post with links to frequently updated Picasa pics.
I'll see what I can do about updating more frequently. Of course, I think I might have said that before.

August? Already?
I suck at updating this. However, if you read this, you already know how horrible I am at it.
My apologies. Thanks for coming back periodically.
We have two new additions to our home: Chloe and Daphne .
Grad school over the summer was nuts - but I got an A. Can you believe I actually have a 4.0 GPA? It's the first time, ever.
Life is hectic, and our friends and family are snatched from us before we're ready. Take a moment today and enjoy the people in your life. It's worth it.

Softball
I joined a company softball team.
That's not entirely accurate.
I joined a softball team that was formed of HP-Agilent employees 20 years ago . The same general crowd is associated with the team (plus/minus a few along the way, of course), but I think only one or two of them still work for Agilent. Either way, I was invited by a gentleman in the office, so I will go give it my best. I have reported my ability to play a mean second base, as well as a decent third. If all else fails, I can always play catcher, right? Here's hoping I don't embarrass myself when batting...

It's working again. It's about time. I like my
